Pidgin is an instant messaging program for Windows, Linux, BSD, and other Unixes. You can talk to your friends using AIM, ICQ, Jabber/XMPP, MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, IRC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, QQ, Lotus Sametime, SILC, SIMPLE, and Zephyr.
Luke: Because the main branch of pidgin development is still not ready for public consumption, I have taken some time to try to pull the many bug fixes that have happened since then into a separate branch. This release is the result of that effort.

* NOTE: Due to the way this release was made, it is possible that bugs marked as fixed in 2.2.1 or 2.2.2 will not be fixed until the next release.Various bug and memory leak fixes
* Look for a default prefs.xml in the CSIDL_COMMON_APPDATA directory (e.g. c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\purple\prefs.xml) on Windows, similarly to how this is done on other platforms.
