Miranda IM is a smaller, faster, easier instant messenger with support for multiple protocols. Miranda IM is designed to be resource efficient and easy to use while still providing many features including support for AIM, Jabber, ICQ, IRC, MSN, Yahoo, and more. Supplemented by hundreds of plugins and other content, Miranda IM is very flexible and provides many avenues for customisation.
Miranda IM 0.6.8 brings more bug fixes to improve stability. If you are using Miranda IM 0.6.7 or earlier, this is a highly recommended upgrade.

Does it still add previously removed (and blocked) contacts back on your list, or is this one sorted along with the other bug fixes?
I think you mean Gaim 🙂
No, I mean Miranda. I tried Gaim, but it doesn’t work for me. I can’t log in with that program, no matter what I try. Miranda works, but it throws my previously removed contacts right back on the list.
I’ve had that problem with Gaim, because Gaim keeps a local list of your contacts, and checks it with, for example, the list over at Microsoft with your Messenger buddies. However, in recent versions, when there are differences between the local list and the remote list, Gaim asks what to do with the contacts. And only asks it one time …
I use Miranda on older computers, or when I’m busy doing stuff that requires lots of memory or cpu.
But my everyday messeger program is Gaim nowadays. The fact that you can’t get it to connect, is a matter that won’t be solved so easily. It’s because it’s you 🙂
Fuck outta here 😀 I don’t know whàt I’m doing wrong. It all seems so obviously right what I’m doing while installing and logging in.
I’ll download it again asap (third time), and try it once again. There’s no simple reason why it shoudln’t work, is there. I’ll keep you informed.
Miranda seems to do the job.
